Artwork
All Artwork should be CAMERA READY & COLOR SEPARATED as a POSITIVE.
This means that your artwork needs to look like what it should look like on your shirt or sticker, with the exception that each color must be SEPARATED (for multicolor designs only) so that each Positive (Color) can be layered on top of another to make up your final design. Its important to remember is that in Screen Printing we work with Film Positives (not inverted Negatives). With this in mind, each SEPARATE color (regardless of the amount of colors involved) must be submitted in BLACK Ink on a WHITE background!

Example: If your finished design consists of, lets say, a YELLOW sun with a BLUE house and a RED roof, all 3 images need to be submitted in BLACK, separated into 3 parts, so that when they are overlapped, all 3 images fall into place, black over black).

If you still don't understand, call for help. Also, as obvious as it sounds, it is imperative that all artwork is CLEAR & CRISP as possible. We cannot stress this enough! If your print looks thin, sketchy or pixilated (boxy), chances are it WON'T look any better on a T-shirt. Keep outlines thicker and everything as DARK as possible.

It is also important to submit artwork the EXACT size it is to be PRINTED (this especially applies to STICKERS, as well as T-SHIRTS, etc). The Bigger, the better....we rather scale DOWN your art as opposed to blowing it UP!

Art Format & Submission
Artwork can be submitted in any of the following formats, listed in order of preference:

1. E-mail: You can e-mail us your Full Completed Art, Color Comps & guidelines to be followed (in the same file formats listed abpove) to the email address listed here. Try to keep art at the HIGHEST Quality - its OK to send large files, just don't get crazy. E-mailing complete art is is fine but note that JPEG format is likely to be pixelated (boxy-looking). Try to create in & submit VECTOR/LINE ART (Native Adobe Illustrator .EPS/.AI) as much as possible! Please call to verify that you have sent us your art via e-mail.

2. CD/Floppy Disk/Zip Disk: Formatted for MACINTOSH & compatible w/ Adobe Illustrator (save in .EPS or .AI file format), Photoshop (save in .PSD, or ,JPG - DO NOT SEND Bitmap/.BMP file formats). Submitting artwork in IBM/PC format is only acceptable if you cannot supply it for MAC. Be sure to label all folders & include all fonts on your disk (if applicable). If you can't included Font Folders, please "CREATE OUTLINES" or "EXPAND" your fonts within your artwork.

3. Paper Films: As a LAST RESORT, you may submit complete Color Seperated artwork on Acetate or what is known as Drafting Vellum (both available at local Copy centers). Make sure that each separated color is printed in BLACK on separate pages (see above). If you are sending art via mail, it is suggested that you secure it between two sturdy pieces of card board to ensure safe delivery.

Unfortunately, we CAN NOT extract artwork from a printed T-shirt, Fax, Business Card, etc ...it just doesn't work. Artwork must be submitted in proper formats mentioned above.

GOLDEN RULE: Always call ahead before submitting any artwork!

Note: All artwork & disks will be returned only upon request. Underground Press will not be held responsable for lost, damaged or undelivered artwork, disks or e-mails.
Halftone Art
If your artwork consists of Halftones (fine little dots that make up a very detailed image, usually a B&W photograph) you should supply artwork via a 100MB Zip Disk, Floppy disk or high quality eMail. Keep in mind that these types of designs, in general, are more difficult to print & usually require printing on light colored garments. Call first. Sorry, but we DO NOT print Full Color Process/4 Color CMYK (ie: full color photos). Spot Colors ONLY!! The MAXIMUM amount of INK Colors per side is 6.

Underground Press reserves the right to refuse to print any material that (in our opinion) infringes Copyright Laws, consists of Utterly Obscene Matter, or happens to be anything else we just don't feel like printing :)
